2012 ZL1 CAMARO – FIRST STATE CHEVROLET – DELAWARE’S #1 CHEVY DEALER
In 2012 Chevrolet released their biggest and baddest production Camaro ever, the 580hp ZL1. First State Chevy sold it’s first one before it arrived on the truck. We had the opportunity to trade one in this week and it is a stunner.
Aggressive…chin spoiler, black 20″ wheels, projector head lights, fog lamps.
Dual-mode Performance Exhaust roars with every touch of the accelerator, 11″ wide rubber and rear deck lid spoiler to keep her from lifting off.
285/35ZR20 Tires wrapped around 20X10″ Black 10-spoke wheels. * Brakes, 4-wheel antilock, 4-wheel disc, Brembo performance 6 piston front and 4 piston rear brakes.
I wanna go fast! How about a 580 hp Supercharged 6.2L V8 power plant. 556 lbs of torque at 4200 rpm. And yeah…it requires the Gas Guzzler Tax, small price to pay to
go fast!

Black Racing Stripe
Suede interior and ZL1 badging
Suede wrapped shifter and auxillary gauges

Chevrolet’s Camaro has had boys and men dreaming since 1966. I’d be politically inncorrect if I didn’t say it had the ladies dazzled just the same. As a matter of fact, here at First State Chevy we sell just as many to women as we do teenagers and middle-aged men. Truth is, the Camaro has a little something for everyone.

Total Confidence Pricing at First State Chevy – A Delaware Chevy Dealer
Chevy recently released Total Confidence Pricing on almost every new 2012 Chevy Vehicle. Now you can purchase a vehicle at the same preferred price as many other discount programs. It doesn’t stop there though. You can also us the current incentives with it. Now is a great time to purchase a new 2012 Chevy Camaro, Equinox or Cruze which rarely have any incentives. On top of that Chevy is offering a 60-day “Love it or Return it” guarantee. If you don’t love the vehicle after 30 days, you have 30 more days to return it at no charge.
2012 Camaro ZL1 Coupe – First State Chevrolet
In 2012 Chevrolet released their biggest and baddest production Camaro ever, the 580hp ZL1. First State Chevy has had one on order for a while now. Anticipating its arrival, one of our customers didn’t want to miss his chance at this one and put money down on her before she got off the truck. Luckily she was in our presence long enough to pose for her first photo shoot. Lets take a look…
One word, Aggressive…chin spoiler, black 20″ wheels, projector head lights, fog lamps.

Glasscoat by Simoniz – First State Chevy
Here at First State Chevrolet we sell products that we truly believe in and use ourselves. Today I want to talk a little bit about Glasscoat made by Simoniz USA. When you purchase a new car it is usually the 2nd largest investment you’ll ever make aside from the purchase of your home. It only makes sense to protect that investment with a quality product like Simoniz. When you purchase a new vehicle and leave the dealership, the only thing on that vehicle that is not under warranty is your paint. Yes defects are covered, but anything from hard water, bird droppings, and tree sap can leave you with a blemished vehicle and large bill to cover. With Simoniz Glasscoat applied to that car, it covers the outside with a glass type resin protecting your paint from the elements. Wouldn’t it be nice to never have to wax your car again? With Glasscoat applied, all you have to do is wash and shammy it off. If any blemish were to appear from acid rain, tree sap, bird droppings, all road de-icing materials, spray paint, insects, hard water spots, or UV damage within 7 years of the manufacture date it is covered under warranty. If you are unable to clean the blemish off with soap and water, bring it to the dealer you purchased from to have it taken care of at no cost to you. Take a look at this product failure demonstration…
Not only does Simoniz protect the exterior of your vehicle. It will also cover the interior. It uses DuPont’s Teflon surface protector. It covers all consumable foods, chewing gum, make-up, crayons, ink, vomit, blood, urine stains, pet waste, dye transfer from clothing.
The product was even featured on the History Channel’s show ‘Modern Marvels’ see below…
Now if your car has been Simonized it doesn’t mean you don’t have to wash, shammy, and clean it. In order to keep its warranty coverage you need to complete this maintenance as normal. Only when you are unable to remedy any blemishes yourself will Simoniz cover you to have them fixed at the dealer.
Our 2008 Alaskan Telescoping Camper
We recently took a pickup camper in on trade for a new Corvette here at 1st State Chevy. Never having seen a camper like this before we were very impressed. ‘It goes up…it goes down’. These campers are designed to travel to remote locations (i.e. up the ALCAN highway) with a low profile shelter. The Alaskan Camper was designed in 1953 to camp along the ALCAN highway and has been in business since. They are custom-built to each customers specifications and only about 50 are produced each year. Lets take a look at the options that were ordered and a virtual tour of this amazing gadget.

Do you like surf fishing with your Chevy? Which Bowtie works best on the beach – First State Chevy
Here on Delmarva, surf fishing on Saturday and Sunday afternoons has become more and more popular with both locals and tourists. You are able to enjoy a day of fishing, sun and fun while having everything at your disposal right in your 4WD vehicle. With so many AWD and 4WD options in Chevy’s line-up, lets take a look at which models would perform best gliding across the soft sand and dune crossings. We will hit points such as GVWR, ground clearance, cargo room, and best practices for the best performance.
AWD V6: GVWR: 5,300lbs Cargo Volume: 63.7 cu. ft./31.5 cu. ft. Clearance: f:6.9 in r:6.9 in Passengers: 5
Ground clearance and AWD can be a concern for anyone attempting to take it on the beach. I would certainly not suggest an Equinox for any inexperienced drivers. Those who know what their doing can make the Equinox work for them, but I personally wouldn’t recommend it if you are a frequent beach goer.
AWD V6: GVWR: 6,459lbs Cargo Volume: 116.4 cu. ft./68.8 cu. ft./24.4 cu. ft. Clearance: f:7.2 in r:7.2 in Passengers: 8
Ground clearance and AWD can be a concern for anyone attempting to take it on the beach. I would certainly not suggest a Traverse for any inexperienced drivers. Those who know what their doing can make the Traverse work for them.
7. Silverado HD 2500 4WD 6.6L Turbo Diesel
- Reg Cab: GVWR: 9,900lbs Cargo Volume: N/A./75.5 cu. ft. Clearance: f:9.75 in r:9.10 in Passengers: 3
- Ext Cab: GVWR: 10,000lbs Cargo Volume: 60.7 cu. ft./75.5 cu. ft. Clearance: f:9.75 in r:8.5 in Passengers: 6
- Crew Cab: GVWR: 10,000lbs Cargo Volume: 60.7 cu. ft./75.5 cu. ft. Clearance: f:9.75 in r:8.2 in Passengers: 6
The Heavy Duty Silverados work well on the beach, especially if you haul a slide in camper for weekend stays. Drivers should have some experience driving on the sand before tackling it with a heavy duty pickup. The weight of the pickup takes some getting used to when starting from a stop. The Diesel engine also produces so much torque, it can very easily bury itself before you know it. For the best performance, decrease the tire pressure to 15-20 psi, lock into 4WD high, and turn off traction control.
- Reg Cab: GVWR: 9,500lbs Cargo Volume: 60.7 cu. ft./75.5 cu. ft. Clearance: f:9.5 in r:13.10 in Passengers: 3
- Ext Cab: GVWR: 9,500lbs Cargo Volume: 60.7 cu. ft./75.5 cu. ft. Clearance: f:9.3 in r:12.50 in Passengers: 6
- Crew Cab: GVWR: 9,500lbs Cargo Volume: 60.7 cu. ft./75.5 cu. ft. Clearance: f:9.0 in r:12.10 in Passengers: 6

The Tahoe provides room for up to 9 passengers, but you can easily remove the 3rd row for plently of cargo room to load up beach essentials. For the best performance, decrease the tire pressure to 15-20 psi, lock into 4WD high, and turn off traction control.
4WD V8: GVWR: 7,400lbs Cargo Volume: 137.4 cu. ft./68.8 cu. ft./24.4 cu. ft. Clearance: f:10.5 in r:9.10 in Passengers: 9
If you want to haul a large family with a lot of cargo across the sand, the Chevy Suburban is your best choice. You can haul up to 9 people and still have room inside for the cooler, umbrella, towels and much more. For the best performance, decrease the tire pressure to 15-20 psi, lock into 4WD high, and turn off traction control.
- Reg Cab: GVWR: 6,400lbs Cargo Volume: 60.7 cu. ft./75.5 cu. ft. Clearance: f:9.5 in r:13.10 in Passengers: 3

- Crew Cab: GVWR: 7,000lbs Cargo Volume: 53.2 cu. ft./N/A Clearance: f:9.0 in r:12.10 in Passengers: 6
Best truck on the road hands down. The Silverado is no slouch on the beach either. I am on my third Silverado and have been driving on the beach for 20 years without a seconds trouble. For the best performance, decrease the tire pressure to 15-20 psi, lock into 4WD high, and turn off traction control.
- Reg Cab: GVWR: 5,150lbs Cargo Volume: 44 cu. ft./N/A Clearance: 11.2 in Passengers: 3
- Ext Cab: GVWR: 5,300lbs Cargo Volume: 44 cu. ft./N/A Clearance: 11.4 in Passengers: 5
- Crew Cab: GVWR: 5,300lbs Cargo Volume: 37 cu. ft./N/A Clearance: 11.4 in Passengers: 6
With the Z71 package on the Ext Cab, the Colorado is the lightest vehicle with the highest clearance and widest tires available. If we were to evaluate on drivablity across the beach alone, the Colorado would be the winner hands down. What it lacks in passenger and cargo space it makes up for in drivability.
4WD V8: GVWR: 7,200lbs Cargo Volume: 45.5 cu. ft./68.8 cu. ft./24.4 cu. ft. Clearance: f:9.10 in r:9.10 in Passengers: 6
Versatility, The Chevy Avalanche is by far the most versatile vehicle in our line-up. With the ability to extend the cargo box up to 8 feet you can easily toss in a surfboard for the trip. The covered cargo box will keep stuff high and dry if the weather turns foul. Bed side storage can double as a drink cooler with drains holes in the bottom, just throw in the ice. You also have the ability to move up to 6 people on the trip and still have plenty of space to bring the necessities. Performance across the sand is no issue for the Avalanche. For the best performance, decrease the tire pressure to 15-20 psi, lock into 4WD high, and turn off traction control.
Removing the mid-gate on a Chevy Avalanche – First State Chevy
Chevrolet recently announced the will no longer make the Chevy Avalanche following the 2013 model year. That just means the time and availability of these unique SUV/trucks will be limited. If you are thinking of getting one, now is the time to keep an eye out or put in an order. Today we are going to show you how to use one of the features that makes the Avalanche a special vehicle. The mid-gate on an Avalanche is easily removable to transform its bed in to 8ft in length. Watch below…
